IMPLEMENTATION OF URGENT SAFETY MEASURES ON EXISTING ROAD MASNAA – Syrian Border
The works include:
- Extension of the custom area to accommodate one additional lane
- Changing in roadways to deviate trucks and separate them from passenger cars
- Implementation of safety measures for traffic
- Development of parking areas
- Signing and marking
- Landscaping of Masnaa area
- Construction of an inspection station for trucks
- Rehabilitation of existing runaway truck ramps
- Construction of rest area in Masnaa
- Other ancillary and associated works including traffic management during construction, reinstatement of roads distributed by the works and tapering to existing roads as necessary.
Services undertaken include:
- Assist in review of tenders for construction works
- Review of detailed construction drawings
- Ensure that all documentation for Land expropriation has been processed
- Ensure that the contractor protects antiquities affected by construction works
- Prepare , monitor and maintain cost estimates and planning schedules
- Progress monitoring and reporting
- Co-ordinate contractors
- Manage claims and variation
- Certify contractors’ payment
- Ensure that as-built drawings are prepared, operation & maintenance manuals reviewed & updated
- Administer the construction contract
- Supervise the construction works
- Supervise rectification of defects during Defects Liability Period
- Certify final completion of the contract
