GRADE SEPARATION AT ADLIEH JUNCTION - Beirut, Lebanon

Grade Separation at Adlieh Junction consisting of a main two-cell cut and cover underpass of total length 527m (covered length 182m) joining a one-cell cut and cover underpass of total length 322m (covered length 167m). The clear width of each cell of the two-cell underpass is 8.35m allowing for a 7.5m roadway. The clear roadway width of the one-cell tunnel is 5.5m.

Services Undertaken included Review of Feasibility Study, Preparation of Final Detailed Design and Production of Packages of Plans, Environmental Monitoring Studies, Specifications and Construction Cost Estimates.

Work included:

  • Phase 1: Available Data Collection, Topographic Survey, Traffic Data and Forecast, Drainage and Utilities Diversion Studies, Site-specific Environmental Monitoring Procedures, Geotechnical and Pavement Evaluation Studies including Rehabilitation of Existing Pavements Assistance during Expropriation and Preparation of Resettlement Action Plan.
  • Phase 2: Detailed Design and the Preparation of Civil and Roadway Plans and Profiles, Structural Drawings, Electrical Drawings (for the lighting of the roads, underpasses, overhead signs…), Electromechanical Drawings (including pumping station and ventilation requirements for underpasses), Utility Plans, Landscaping, Traffic Signals, Site Specific Archeological and Environmental Monitoring Plans, Construction Staging and maintenance of Traffic Plan.
