SOUTH ENTRANCE TO BEIRUT, MAR ELIAS – KHALDEH, BOULEVARD SAEB SALAM TO OUZAI - Beirut, Lebanon

The South Entrance to Beirut is a Mottorway 60m wide in parts and 40m wide in Others and comprises:

  • 2 x 3 lane dual carriageways approximately 4.5km long
  • 2 x 2 lane dual carriageways approximately 1km long
  • 2 or 3 lane side roads, approaches and roundabouts approximately 5km in length

The above Motorway totals over 10km in length and includes the following:

  • 2 interchanges with prestressed precast bridges 200m long with 33 spans, replaced by a continuous prestressed concrete bridge
  • 350m long steel/concrete composite bridge with spans up to 40m replaced by a 2x2 lane tunnel & ramps totaling over 900m in length
  • 1 interchange with a 350m underpass with 2 x 150m ramps
  • 1 interchange with a 50m underpass with a 2 x 150m ramps
  • 3 roundabouts

Services Undertaken included:

Preparation of Detailed Designs, Tender Documents and Cost Estimates including Road, Bridge, Traffic, Drainage, Main Sewers, Electrical Cabling and Telephone. Drawings and Tender Documents followed by Project Control and Construction Supervision.
