KWASHRA DAM - Akkar, North Lebanon
The dam was built in 1964. It is a rock fill gravity dam with a concrete facing curtain upstream. The dam is 200 m wide with a maximum height of 11 m and 280,000 m³ retaining capacity.
Services Undertaken included
- Advise and follow-up of geotechnical investigations with 9 boreholes of 18 m maximum depth, pits, laboratory tests and lugeon tests
- Rehabilitation of the pumping station, the spillway and the outlet
- Proposal to increase the capacity of the dam by 112,000 m³; from 280,000 m³ to 392,000 m³.
