TEMPORARY WASTE WATER PROJECT FOR FY08 WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT, PHASE I - Kingdom Bahrain

The Project consists of the construction of a Wastewater Treatment Plant in Manama Bahrain. The Plant is designed in conformance with the Recommended Standards for Wastewater Facilities. The Treatment Plant is sized for a design flow of 125 m³/day and a peak daily flow of 312.5 m³/day. The BOD loading is anticipated to be 27.2 kg/day. The Treatment Plant Design conforms to UFC 3-310-04 Seismic Design for Buildings and Sections 134800 Seismic Protection for Miscellaneous Equipment and 134800.00 10 Seismic Protection for Mechanical Equipment.

Services Undertaken include

  • Preparation of structural design and related structural drawings.
  • The foundation system of the Irrigation/Wash Water Tank including bracing requirements and their verification under seismic forces.
  • The foundation system of the packaged waste water treatment plant including any bracing requirements.
  • Sludge Drying Beds including their raft foundation and their low height walls.
  • Verification of the installation drawings for the waste water treatment plant equipment and irrigation tanks (prepared by the Plant Manufacturer) to make sure they are meeting the seismic requirements.
