ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT (EIS) FOR DEIR EZZOR – AL BOKAMAL ROAD PROJECT – STAGE 2 - Northeast Syria
The Deir Ezzor – Bokamal road is considered one of the major road networks connecting the Syrian ports with the western Iraqi border.
The project includes the construction of the road starting at Al-Mayadin roundabout and extends toward Al-Bokamal town till the intersection with Al Hery town. The total length of the proposed main road is about 90km. In addition, four road links with a total length of 28Km will connect the residential communities and the main towns along the proposed Deir Ezzor – Al Bokamal road.
Services Undertaken included
The project consists of the following activities as indicated below:
- Field Survey for the proposed road
- Meeting with key stakeholders relevant to the road project
- Preparation of the environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed road project including a traffic study and a social study . The EIS provides an Environmental Management Plan during the phases of site preparation, road construction and road operation.
