CONSERVATION OF WETLANDS AND COASTAL ZONES IN THE MEDITERRANEAN MEDWETCOAST PROJECT - DESIGN OF AN ECO-FRIENDLY OFFICE / VISITOR CENTER FOR TYRE COAST NATURE RESERVE

The MedWetCoast Lebanon project’s overall development objective is to conserve globally endangered species and their habitats recognizing nature conservation as an integral part of sustainable human development while improving the capacity of governmental and non-governmental agencies to address biodiversity conservation issues in two main sites: The Tyre Coast Nature Reserve and Aammiq Wetland. The project’s objectives are the following:

  • Promotion and capacity building for the development of national policies and tools to address the policy-related root causes of loss of wetland and coastal  biodiversity
  • Protection and removal of root causes in key demonstration sites selected in view of their global significance and the variety, which they present in terms of threats and accompanying actions;
  • Contributing to the closing of the Mediterranean circle in terms of biodiversity protection and sustainable management of wetlands and coastal zone through cost effective regional networking for transfer of lessons, interchange and training.

Design of an approximately 111 m² eco-friendly office / visitor center for Tyre Coast Nature Reserve including:

  • Site Visit and Analysis
  • Detailed Design Drawings
  • Detailed Execution Drawings
  • Bill of Quantities
  • Detailed Cost Estimate for Construction
