DEVELOPMENT OF SOUTH LEBANON WASTEWATER MASTER PLAN

This project consisted of strengthening the newly formed South Lebanon Water and Wastewater Establishment (SLWWE), improving its image towards international funding community, providing it with tools for decision making, investment and planning and introducing the wastewater operations to the establishment.

Services undertaken include:

  • Assessment of the current wastewater situation in South Lebanon;
  • Review of previous work done in the South and existing documents and studies on wastewater planning in the country;
  • Design of a priority action plan;
  • Development of GIS maps and database according to the collected information;
  • Design and development of a wastewater master plan for the South based on existing plans and network;
  • Estimation of the implementation and capital investment planning;
  • Coordination with LWPP team to introduce the results of the wastewater master plan to the financial cost recovery model and identify its impact on the proposed tariff system.
