Project LEB/02/M21 “Assessment of the National Tariff Policy Application” is a seven months project funded by Thematic Trust Fund and managed by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). This project is to assist national electric utility in Lebanon Électricité Du Liban (EDL), review its electrical tariff structure and evaluate the effect of energy subsidies on population groups. The project will support the national efforts to restructure the subsidy programmes for the poor groups including targeted energy pricing to support socioeconomic growth.

The outcomes of this project will complement those that were produced by other studies (i.e. NERA, EDF and EDL) to form a unified and complete tariff structure that promotes economic and sustainable development, energy efficiency, and reduction of theft for all consumer groups in the Lebanese economy: These outcomes shall be take into consideration the imminent privatization of EDL.
