TARIFF STUDY FOR THE LEBANESE ELECTRICITY, ELECTRICITÉ DU LIBAN (EDL) - Lebanon

EDL commissioned NERA in association with Rafik El-Khoury & Partners a study to enable it to recommend an appropriate tariff structure for its customers.

Services undertaken include:

To Develop recommendations on specific measures that could be taken to ensure that the proposed tariff genuinely reflects the economic costs of electricity generation, transmission and distribution for EDL.
To promote efficient use of electricity by encouraging less consumption during the peak period.
To tailor the tariff for each customer group in the economy in such a way that stimulates economic activities and reduces cross – subsidization.
To ensure ease of adjustability (+/-) in time and scale to satisfy varying revenue requirements.
To ensure simplicity so that the proposed tariff is easy to understand, administer and meter.
